About the role.
This role involves leading the engineering of ultra-low-latency trading platforms within a high-stakes financial environment. You will be responsible for designing and enhancing mission-critical systems that facilitate high-volume trading for institutional clients. The position requires a blend of deep technical expertise in high-performance computing and strong leadership capabilities to drive strategic technical initiatives.
What you will do.
- Lead and manage engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.
- Oversee project timelines, risk management, and task prioritization to ensure successful delivery within budget.
- Mentor team members to foster professional growth and maintain a high-performance culture.
- Define technical strategy and make recommendations for process improvements and architectural changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement rigorous testing practices.
- Manage and mitigate operational risks while strengthening controls across the development lifecycle.
What you bring.
- 13–25 years of experience in software development with a focus on low-latency, high-performance trading systems.
- Expertise in Java development, multi-threaded programming, and Linux-based server applications.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, concurrency, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Knowledge of computer networking, operating systems, and computer architecture.
- Experience in Investment Banking environments supporting trading desks.
- Familiarity with C++ or FPGA technologies is highly desirable.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
