About the role.
The Vice President of Legal will serve as a key advisor, providing comprehensive legal support and strategic guidance to the business. This role involves managing complex legal matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating risks within the financial services sector. You will lead high-impact initiatives and collaborate with senior stakeholders to support the firm's operational objectives.
What you will do.
- Provide expert legal counsel on complex financial transactions and regulatory matters.
- Manage and oversee legal risks associated with business operations and strategic projects.
- Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial contracts and legal documentation.
- Advise senior management on legal implications of business decisions and policy changes.
- Liaise with external counsel and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with local and international laws.
- Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals to drive departmental efficiency.
- Develop and implement internal legal policies and best practices to safeguard the firm's interests.
What you bring.
- 12–18 years of post-qualification experience in a legal role within the financial services or banking sector.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and corporate law.
- Proven track record of managing complex legal transactions and litigation.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing high-performing teams.
