About the role.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape by designing and delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions. You will act as a subject matter expert, guiding technical direction for complex, multi-year assignments while mentoring less experienced engineers. This role requires a strategic mindset to influence departmental operations and ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and performant applications.
What you will do.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and designers to define requirements and devise effective solution strategies.
- Provide technical leadership by guiding team members, conducting code reviews, and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Advise senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact to ensure alignment with business strategies.
- Manage and mitigate technical risks through rigorous assessment and adherence to governance and control agendas.
- Drive continuous improvement in software development processes, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
- Ensure all software solutions adhere to secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Define technical roadmaps and contribute to strategic planning for departmental operations and future needs.
What you bring.
- 14–25 years of professional experience in software engineering with a track record of delivering enterprise-scale applications.
- Extensive hands-on experience in Java, including core concepts, concurrency, and performance optimization.
- Strong professional experience developing production-grade applications using Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
- Advanced SQL capability with deep understanding of relational databases, schema design, and query optimization.
- Demonstrable experience with Python 3 for software development, automation, and platform engineering.
- Strong understanding of system design, including microservices, distributed systems, scalability, and event-driven architecture.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
