About the role.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to design and maintain robust enterprise data models for complex banking applications. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical architecture, ensuring data integrity and performance. This position involves leading data migration initiatives and optimizing database structures to support large-scale warehousing and integration projects.
What you will do.
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical enterprise data models for banking applications.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to translate business requirements into scalable data models.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and strict adherence to enterprise data governance standards.
- Optimize database design to enhance performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Lead complex data migration activities, specifically transitioning data from Oracle to Netezza environments.
- Support and contribute to broader data integration and data warehousing initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance on database design principles and best practices.
What you bring.
- 10+ years of professional experience in Data Modeling.
- Significant domain expertise within the Banking and Financial Services sector.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, including schema design and performance optimization.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and fundamental database design principles.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Proven experience with data migration projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with MPP architectures like Teradata or Netezza is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of banking regulatory and compliance data requirements is a plus.
