About the role.
The Lead - Vendor Sourcing will spearhead the strategic procurement and supplier development initiatives for the lithium-ion battery division. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless availability of raw materials, chemicals, and additives required for advanced manufacturing. You will bridge the gap between R&D, quality, and external partners to drive cost-efficiency and supply chain resilience.
What you will do.
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of critical raw materials, chemicals, and minerals for battery manufacturing.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to ensure a robust and diversified supply chain.
- Conduct techno-commercial evaluations to optimize costs while maintaining high quality standards.
- Develop and manage long-term partnerships with key vendors to ensure supply security.
- Drive localization initiatives to reduce dependency on imports and improve lead times.
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support new product development and scale-up programs.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive monitoring and contingency planning.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with sustainability goals and corporate compliance standards.
What you bring.
- 8–12 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within the chemical or battery manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of the lithium-ion battery value chain and associated raw materials.
- Proven track record in supplier development, qualification, and techno-commercial negotiations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage complex supply chain data.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills to interface with R&D, Finance, and Manufacturing teams.
- Deep knowledge of cost optimization strategies and risk management frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, manufacturing-focused environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field; MBA in Supply Chain or Operations is preferred.
