About the role.
The Senior Project Mechanical Engineer will oversee piping and layout design activities for critical chemical projects based in Baroda. This role involves managing engineering contractors, ensuring design consistency, and driving project objectives from the front-end development stage through to execution. You will act as a key technical lead, ensuring that all mechanical design documentation aligns with organizational standards and project goals.
What you will do.
- Direct and integrate activities across multiple project operations to ensure cohesive and effective project delivery.
- Develop, implement, and maintain short- and long-range project objectives within an owner’s project team.
- Manage and review piping and layout design documentation submitted by external engineering contractors.
- Collaborate proactively with design contractors to identify and implement technical solutions.
- Develop front-end piping and layout design documentation prior to the engagement of external contractors.
- Manage working relationships between project teams and various internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project leadership to establish goals and priorities for business and technology solutions.
What you bring.
- 8–12 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, specifically within the chemical or process industry.
- Proven expertise in piping and layout design for large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong experience in managing engineering contractors and reviewing technical design documentation.
- Ability to develop front-end engineering design (FEED) documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to mechanical design and project execution.
