About the role.
The Contract and Commercial Lead will oversee the commercial health of major projects, ensuring robust contract management and financial performance. You will act as a strategic advisor, mitigating risks and optimizing value throughout the project delivery process. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of commercial governance and client satisfaction.
What you will do.
- Lead the end-to-end commercial management of complex projects including contract administration and financial reporting.
- Provide expert guidance on contract terms, conditions, and risk mitigation strategies to project teams.
- Manage commercial performance, including budget tracking, cost forecasting, and revenue recognition.
- Oversee the preparation and negotiation of variations, claims, and dispute resolution processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal commercial governance policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive project profitability and operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior commercial staff and promote best practices in contract management across the business unit.
What you bring.
- 10–15 years of professional experience in contract and commercial management within the infrastructure or construction sector.
- Proven track record of managing high-value, complex contracts and commercial risks.
- Strong understanding of standard forms of contract and legal principles relevant to infrastructure projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and contractual data.
- Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related commercial discipline.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
