About the role.
As a Vice President, AI Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and scaling of sophisticated AI and machine learning solutions within a high-stakes enterprise environment. You will be responsible for architecting agentic AI systems, LLM applications, and robust MLOps pipelines that drive business value across multiple units. This role requires a strategic mindset to influence technical direction, mentor engineering teams, and ensure that all AI deployments meet rigorous standards for security, governance, and performance.
What you will do.
- Design and deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks.
- Architect and deploy agentic AI systems and LLM applications, including multi-agent orchestration and complex AI workflows.
- Lead the development of end-to-end MLOps pipelines to ensure reliable model serving and production-grade performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and align technical strategies with business objectives.
- Establish and maintain AI safety, guardrails, and governance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure secure software delivery.
- Mentor engineering teams, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Advise senior leadership on technical architectures, functional impacts, and long-term strategic AI initiatives.
- Manage and mitigate operational risks through effective assessment, control, and governance practices.
What you bring.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on scalable ML infrastructure and enterprise-grade MLOps.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python (FastAPI, async patterns) and/or Go/Java.
- Proven experience in developing agentic AI systems, LLM fine-tuning, RAG architectures, and prompt engineering.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, Bedrock, SageMaker) and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture, microservices, and data consistency patterns.
- Experience with AI security frameworks, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and policy engines like OPA.
- Strong background in financial services domain, including regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical architectures to senior stakeholders.
