About the role.
The Securities Settlement Manager will oversee end-to-end settlement processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role involves managing complex trade lifecycles, mitigating operational risks, and leading a team to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. You will act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to resolve settlement discrepancies and optimize operational workflows.
What you will do.
- Manage the daily settlement operations for various financial products to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Oversee the investigation and resolution of trade breaks, fails, and settlement discrepancies.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, global regulatory requirements, and market standards.
- Collaborate with front-office, middle-office, and external counterparties to streamline settlement workflows.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular reporting on operational metrics to senior management.
- Drive process automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Manage relationships with custodians, depositories, and other market infrastructure providers.
What you bring.
- 8–12 years of experience in securities settlement or trade operations within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including clearing and settlement processes for various asset classes.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and resolve complex issues.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools used for trade processing and reconciliation.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment while maintaining high operational standards.
