About the role.
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to join a dynamic team. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable cloud-based data solutions. This position involves integrating AI and automation, modernizing legacy systems, and ensuring robust data governance and security within a cutting-edge data architecture.
What you will do.
- Design and implement data pipelines supporting machine learning, generative AI, and real-time analytics.
- Develop scalable, cloud-based data solutions using Data Mesh, Lakehouse, and streaming patterns.
- Apply responsible AI principles and enforce data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Improve data platform performance through query tuning, distributed processing, and cloud cost optimization.
- Support modernization of legacy systems using containerization, serverless services, and workflow automation.
- Collaborate with business and engineering partners to deliver data solutions aligned to strategic goals.
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and implementation standards.
- Implement secure-by-design patterns, disaster recovery capabilities, and reliability improvements for critical data services.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tooling, that provide measurable value.
What you bring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or data platform development.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Mandatory financial industry data experience.
- 3+ years of experience in AWS (or similar cloud platforms), including S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, SQS, and EMR.
- 4+ years of SQL Server experience, including SSIS and SSRS.
- Proven ability to provide technical guidance and collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience designing and supporting scalable distributed data systems using open-source and cloud-native technologies.
- Working experience with Agile delivery models such as Scrum or Kanban.
