About the role.

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to join a dynamic team. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable cloud-based data solutions. This position involves integrating AI and automation, modernizing legacy systems, and ensuring robust data governance and security within a cutting-edge data architecture.

What you will do.

  • Design and implement data pipelines supporting machine learning, generative AI, and real-time analytics.
  • Develop scalable, cloud-based data solutions using Data Mesh, Lakehouse, and streaming patterns.
  • Apply responsible AI principles and enforce data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Improve data platform performance through query tuning, distributed processing, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Support modernization of legacy systems using containerization, serverless services, and workflow automation.
  • Collaborate with business and engineering partners to deliver data solutions aligned to strategic goals.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and implementation standards.
  • Implement secure-by-design patterns, disaster recovery capabilities, and reliability improvements for critical data services.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tooling, that provide measurable value.

What you bring.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or data platform development.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
  • Mandatory financial industry data experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in AWS (or similar cloud platforms), including S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, SQS, and EMR.
  • 4+ years of SQL Server experience, including SSIS and SSRS.
  • Proven ability to provide technical guidance and collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience designing and supporting scalable distributed data systems using open-source and cloud-native technologies.
  • Working experience with Agile delivery models such as Scrum or Kanban.
