About the role.

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines within a cloud-based ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing database performance and ensuring the integrity of large-scale data integration processes. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated Azure-based architectures while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

What you will do.

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related Azure services.
  • Develop complex and optimized T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
  • Perform database administration activities including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and data integrity management.
  • Build and maintain data integration pipelines connecting diverse source and target systems.
  • Analyze evolving source data structures and adapt pipelines to meet changing business requirements.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to support analytical and operational data needs.
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline failures, quality issues, and production incidents to ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and adhere to established security and deployment standards.

What you bring.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 7–10 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL, or data integration roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server development and administration.
  • Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for complex data integration.
  • Practical experience working with Azure data platform services.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and logical/physical data design.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD and source control tools such as Azure DevOps or Git.
