About the role.

We are looking for a highly skilled Semantic Layer Specialist to design, develop, and maintain robust semantic layers that empower data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for transforming complex data into intuitive, business-friendly models while ensuring high performance and scalability across multi-cloud environments. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between raw data infrastructure and actionable business insights.

What you will do.

  • Design and implement scalable semantic layers using industry-standard tools such as Cube.dev and AtScale.
  • Develop and optimize complex dimensional models, including Star and Snowflake schemas.
  • Write and maintain advanced SQL queries for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical data models.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all semantic layer implementations.
  • Monitor and optimize semantic layer performance and resource utilization to ensure high availability.
  • Apply advanced modeling techniques including Data Vault 2.0 and Business Vocabulary Modeling.
  • Integrate semantic models with BI tools like Power BI and dbt Semantic Layer.

What you bring.

  • 9–15 years of professional experience in data engineering or semantic modeling.
  • Proven expertise in semantic layer tools such as Cube.dev, AtScale, or MetricFlow.
  • Strong proficiency in Dimensional Modeling, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Entity Relationship Modeling.
  • Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with Python for data scripting and automation.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, and Azure Synapse.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
