About the role.
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with strong proficiency in Java and Scala to join a dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and server-side applications. The successful candidate will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, leveraging modern technologies and an interest in AI tooling to enhance workflow efficiency.
What you will do.
- Develop and maintain Java server-side applications using Spring Boot for concurrent programming
- Design and implement message-based architectures using technologies like MQ/Kafka
- Orchestrate data processes and applications using modern frameworks such as Kubernetes
- Write and optimize complex database queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage
- Develop and maintain Unix/Linux scripts using Shell or Python for automation and data processing
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, adhering to best practices
- Actively explore and integrate AI tooling to accelerate the SDLC while maintaining strong technical judgment
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand application requirements and business context
What you bring.
- 5–8 years of experience in data engineering or software development
- Strong proficiency in Java server-side concurrent programming with Spring Boot
- Experience with message-based architectures (MQ/Kafka) and modern orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes)
- Competence in database technologies and writing complex queries
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting (Shell/Python)
- Solid understanding of functional programming concepts and Scala collections
- Experience with Akka, Play Framework, or similar Scala-based frameworks
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
