About the role.
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager at Vice President level to lead multiple full-stack engineering teams delivering customer-facing and core banking capabilities. You will own engineering strategy, delivery execution, engineering excellence, people leadership and architecture governance, while driving AI-enabled productivity improvements across the software development lifecycle. The role spans infrastructure and deployment pipeline evolution, ensuring seamless delivery of digital solutions at scale. This is a hybrid role based in Pune.
What you will do.
- Own end-to-end delivery across multiple feature teams, ensuring outcomes align with business objectives, OKRs and strategic priorities.
- Govern engineering metrics including velocity, predictability, quality, deployment frequency and operational stability.
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies, technical debt, incidents and production support across teams.
- Provide technical leadership across front-end, back-end, API, integration and cloud technologies, driving architecture reviews for scalable, resilient and secure solutions.
- Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers, Software Engineers, QA Engineers and Scrum Masters, building high-performing and inclusive teams.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices such as Copilot and Claude to improve productivity across code generation, testing and documentation.
- Establish and govern engineering standards across design, development, testing, DevOps, security and reliability engineering.
- Collaborate with business partners, product managers and senior stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and influence strategy.
What you bring.
- 15 to 22 years of experience in software engineering, including proven experience leading multiple engineering teams and managers.
- Strong track record of delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes and driving engineering strategy and organisational change.
- Hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture.
- Experience with Angular or React and modern front-end frameworks, along with API-led and event-driven architecture.
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and DevOps practices including CI/CD, SRE and Observability.
- Knowledge of secure and resilient software engineering practices and architecture governance.
- Demonstrated people leadership skills, including talent development, succession planning, coaching and mentoring.
- Strong risk management, controls, stakeholder influence and strategic thinking capabilities.
