About the role.
We are seeking an experienced Neo4j Database Administrator to manage, optimise and secure Neo4j platforms across on-premises and AWS Cloud environments. The role combines hands-on database administration with cloud migration and platform engineering. It suits a professional who can keep critical graph workloads highly available while driving automation and clear stakeholder communication.
What you will do.
- Install, configure, tune and maintain Neo4j database platforms for performance and reliability.
- Plan, execute and validate Neo4j migrations from on-premises to AWS with minimal downtime and post-migration support.
- Deploy and manage Neo4j on AWS infrastructure including EC2, EKS, S3, VPC and IAM.
- Manage backup, recovery, monitoring, log management and health dashboards to ensure high availability.
- Perform capacity planning and preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot platform issues as they arise.
- Deliver Proofs of Concept and build automation using scripting or programming to streamline operations.
What you bring.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, with strong Neo4j platform administration covering installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, recovery and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience migrating Neo4j databases from on-premises environments to AWS.
- Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, EKS, S3, VPC and IAM.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts such as firewall configuration, network security, access controls and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience with platform monitoring and preventive maintenance practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide technical updates and manage expectations.
- Nice to have: scripting or programming experience for operational automation and experience delivering PoCs for database or cloud initiatives.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
