About the role.
The QA Engineer will own functional and regression testing for critical banking applications, designing test strategies that protect the integrity of market and risk systems. The role places a strong emphasis on automation, with the expectation that candidates build reusable test frameworks rather than relying on manual execution alone. You will work closely with development and risk teams to validate batch processes, APIs and data flows against regulatory requirements.
What you will do.
- Design and execute functional, integration and regression test plans for banking applications
- Build reusable, maintainable test automation frameworks using Python or Java
- Develop and maintain API test suites and validate batch processing workflows
- Write and optimise SQL queries to verify data accuracy and reconciliation
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation
- Manage the defect lifecycle, from logging and triage through to verification and closure
- Validate applications against global market and regulatory risk requirements such as FRTB, CCAR, CCR and VaR
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts and risk stakeholders to refine test coverage
What you bring.
- 5-8 years of experience in software quality assurance within banking or financial services
- Strong foundation in functional testing, test design and regression testing
- Demonstrated automation mindset with hands-on experience in Python or Java test automation
- Experience with API testing and batch validation
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices
- Understanding of global market and regulatory risk domains (FRTB, CCAR, CCR, VaR)
- Ability to demonstrate reusable automation solutions, not only manual testing experience
