About the role.
We are seeking a skilled BI Developer to join our client's team in a hybrid capacity. You will be responsible for designing and deploying high-impact dashboards and reports using Amazon QuickSight. This role involves working closely with cloud data platforms to ensure seamless data integration and performance optimization.
What you will do.
- Develop interactive QuickSight reports and dashboards based on approved wireframes and technical specifications.
- Implement advanced features including calculated fields, parameters, drill-throughs, and cross-visual interactions.
- Manage and maintain QuickSight datasets using both SPICE ingestion and Direct Query methods.
- Configure schema designs, field-level transformations, and automated refresh schedules.
- Implement and maintain Row-Level Security rules to ensure robust data access control.
- Optimize report and dataset performance through SPICE tuning and query simplification.
- Participate in stakeholder walkthrough sessions to gather feedback and iterate on dashboard designs.
What you bring.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in BI and analytics development.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight delivery.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
- Experience working with Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, or similar cloud data platforms.
- Solid understanding of the trade-offs between SPICE and Direct Query modes.
- Proven ability to implement Row-Level Security in QuickSight.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git and project management tools like Jira.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
