About the role.
The Assistant General Manager / General Manager of Purchase will lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle to ensure cost-efficiency and operational continuity. This role involves developing strategic sourcing plans, managing complex vendor relationships, and overseeing inventory management to align with production schedules. You will be responsible for driving departmental KPIs and mentoring a high-performing team in a dynamic corporate setting.
What you will do.
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to optimize supply chain costs and operational efficiency.
- Manage the end-to-end vendor lifecycle, including identification, negotiation, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
- Oversee inventory management processes to ensure the timely procurement of materials for production schedules.
- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to mitigate risks and ensure competitive sourcing strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental KPIs and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and maintain high standards of supply chain logistics.
What you bring.
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the manufacturing sector.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA in Supply Chain Management or Operations is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of procurement regulations, compliance, and supply chain logistics.
- Experience in managing international procurement and import-export documentation is a plus.
