About the role.

This role involves leading the strategic procurement function to ensure seamless supply chain operations and cost-effective sourcing. You will be responsible for managing complex chemical and solvent procurement processes while ensuring strict adherence to GMP compliance and risk management protocols. The position is based in Mumbai and requires a leader capable of driving process automation and financial efficiency.

What you will do.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to support organizational growth and cost optimization goals.
  • Manage global sourcing initiatives for chemicals and solvents, ensuring high-quality standards and supply continuity.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and oversee contract management to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
  • Implement robust supply chain risk management frameworks to address potential disruptions.
  • Ensure all procurement activities strictly comply with GMP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive process automation within the procurement function to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Conduct detailed spend analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and vendor consolidation.
  • Oversee hazardous material logistics, ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Manage and develop vendor relationships to ensure long-term partnership value and performance.

What you bring.

  • Proven experience in strategic procurement within the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing sector.
  • Strong expertise in global sourcing, specifically regarding chemicals and solvents.
  • Demonstrated ability in commercial negotiations and managing complex supply chain contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP compliance and hazardous material logistics.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of successful cost optimization and spend analysis.
  • Experience in implementing process automation tools within a procurement environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and vendor networks.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
