About the role.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the evolution of network infrastructure platforms and toolchains within a high-stakes banking environment. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure that supports global network operations. This role involves leveraging software engineering techniques and automation to optimize performance and ensure seamless integration across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
What you will do.
- Develop and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements for reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Implement automated tasks and processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to proactively identify and resolve vulnerabilities or outages.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and architects to define infrastructure requirements and align with business objectives.
- Ensure robust security configurations to protect hardware, software, and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to guide the direction of multi-year assignments.
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Manage risks and strengthen controls in alignment with organizational governance and strategic priorities.
What you bring.
- Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud Platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization/orchestration.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including routing, switching, and data center technologies like BGP, VXLAN/EVPN, and Spine-Leaf architectures.
- Expertise in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and setting up resilient hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, or Golang.
- Deep understanding of network security concepts including NGFW, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust principles.
- Experience with SRE principles, including managing MTTR, deployment frequency, and SLOs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems through research and interpretative thinking.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
