About the role.

This role involves leading critical initiatives within the Financial Crime Compliance function to ensure robust risk management and regulatory adherence. You will be responsible for overseeing compliance frameworks, managing complex investigations, and providing strategic guidance to internal stakeholders. The position is designed for a seasoned professional capable of navigating the evolving landscape of financial crime regulations.

What you will do.

  • Oversee and implement comprehensive financial crime compliance programs including AML, KYC, and sanctions screening.
  • Provide expert advisory support to business units regarding regulatory requirements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and mentor a team of compliance professionals to ensure operational excellence and adherence to internal policies.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and gap analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities in existing compliance processes.
  • Lead investigations into suspicious activities and ensure timely reporting to relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to align local compliance practices with international standards and group policies.
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and update internal frameworks to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Prepare and present detailed compliance reports to senior management and relevant governance committees.

What you bring.

  • 8–12 years of professional experience in financial crime compliance within the banking or financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of global AML, CFT, and sanctions regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing compliance teams and complex regulatory projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to business operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to influence senior leadership.
  • Professional certification in AML or compliance is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment based in Mumbai.
