About the role.
This hybrid role splits roughly 50% project and program leadership with 50% hands-on data engineering contribution, and is explicitly not a pure coordinator or Scrum Master position. You will build and maintain project plans across multiple workstreams and use cases, manage risks and reprioritization, and keep stakeholders informed of updated timelines. You will also lead foundational initiatives such as internal tooling upgrades and GenAI agent builds, while contributing directly to data engineering workstreams with engineering credibility. The role is based in Bengaluru with a hybrid work arrangement.
What you will do.
- Build and maintain project plans across multiple workstreams and use cases, readjusting them as priorities shift
- Identify risks early, surface conflicts, and drive their resolution
- Keep Jira boards current and communicate reprioritization and updated timelines to stakeholders
- Lead foundational initiatives such as internal tooling upgrades or GenAI agent builds with bounded plans and timelines
- Advise on lightweight agile practices, including right-sizing ceremonies within a loose two-week sprint cadence
- Contribute directly to data engineering workstreams and challenge estimates with engineering credibility
What you bring.
- 10 years of experience in project, program, or delivery management roles
- Background in data engineering, including large-scale data transformation and high-volume data environments
- Prior experience working in agile environments
- Technical proficiency with Python, PySpark, SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Airflow, on-prem infrastructure and schedulers
- Strong communicator able to drive clarity across BAU, project and innovation work simultaneously
- Relevant bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field; experience operating across multiple teams at a senior level and familiarity with Claude Code and GitHub are nice to have
