About the role.
As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will join a 24/7 Technical Operations Center to ensure the stability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure services. You will be responsible for managing UNIX/Linux environments, storage systems, and network operations while handling incident and change management. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, providing technical guidance and resolving complex operational challenges.
What you will do.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Level 1 and Level 2 operational issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Perform setup, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers to ensure high availability and security.
- Manage and monitor SAN/NAS storage systems, including performing emergency and planned maintenance.
- Execute incident and change management processes within a 24/7 global support framework.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, escalating complex problems as required.
- Maintain accurate system documentation and standard operating procedures for storage and backup environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and infrastructure initiatives.
- Utilize automation tools to streamline system monitoring and operational tasks.
What you bring.
- Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Storage Administration (SAN/NAS) and Backup/Archive management.
- Working knowledge of Hitachi storage solutions and Veritas backup software.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and monitoring (LAN/WAN/Telecom).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Python or Ansible.
- Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM frameworks and experience using ServiceNow and JIRA.
- Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certification or CCNA/CCNP/CCIE are highly preferred.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment.
