About the role.
The Senior Data Engineer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex data integration and business intelligence solutions. This role involves architecting scalable data pipelines, mentoring a team of consultants, and translating intricate business requirements into robust technical frameworks. You will serve as a key technical advisor, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights across various enterprise environments.
What you will do.
- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end data integration processes using GCP-native tools including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer.
- Architect and implement scalable data models and transformation strategies to support enterprise-level business intelligence.
- Lead and mentor a team of data consultants, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and professional development support.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define self-service analytic solutions and intuitive reporting dashboards.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including ETL specifications, data architecture diagrams, and testing plans.
- Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automation strategies to ensure repeatable and maintainable data workflows.
- Provide consultative expertise to clients regarding data architecture best practices and modern cloud-native technologies.
- Stay current with emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and data engineering to drive innovation within project delivery.
What you bring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience in data integration, data warehousing, and software development.
- Proven expertise in GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Vertex AI.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python/PySpark, and modern data modeling techniques.
- Experience with BI tools including Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, Terraform, and Agile methodologies.
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity, mentoring technical teams.
- Familiarity with alternative cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and database technologies like Snowflake or Redshift.
