About the role.
The Batch Operations Engineer is responsible for the reliable execution, monitoring and support of scheduled batch workloads that underpin critical financial processes. The role combines scripting and automation with hands-on production support, incident triage and release coordination. The successful candidate will work in a shift and on-call rotation to ensure timely resolution of issues and smooth delivery of business-critical operations.
What you will do.
- Monitor, schedule and manage batch jobs across production environments to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Triage and resolve production incidents, performing root cause analysis and documenting outcomes
- Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate operational tasks and improve batch reliability
- Analyse application and system logs to identify failures, bottlenecks and recurring issues
- Query and validate data using SQL to support troubleshooting and reconciliation activities
- Coordinate release and deployment activities, ensuring operational readiness and rollback preparedness
- Participate in shift rotations and on-call support, responding to alerts within defined service levels
- Communicate incident status and resolution progress clearly to stakeholders and leadership
- Maintain operational runbooks and contribute to continuous process improvement
What you bring.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in production operations, batch processing or application support
- Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation and operational tooling
- Hands-on experience with batch scheduling and monitoring tools
- Proven incident triage and troubleshooting skills in production environments
- Solid working knowledge of SQL and log analysis techniques
- Experience with release operations and deployment coordination
- Familiarity with global market and regulatory risk concepts is an advantage
- Demonstrated operational discipline, with readiness for shift and on-call work
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for status reporting
