About the role.
We are looking for a skilled API Platform Engineer to join our client's integration team in Kolkata / Delhi. You will be responsible for defining the strategy, architecture, and delivery of a robust enterprise API ecosystem, working across a dual-platform environment that leverages both Apigee and Kong technologies. This role offers the opportunity to lead technical initiatives and drive best practices in a hybrid, multi-cloud infrastructure.
What you will do.
- Define deployment patterns and architectural best practices for Apigee X/Hybrid and Kong Gateway in hybrid cloud environments.
- Execute coexistence and migration strategies while enforcing security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and mTLS.
- Mentor engineering team members and manage Agile delivery cycles for API-related projects.
- Integrate gateway configurations into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Establish and maintain API design standards and optimize developer portals for a seamless self-service experience.
- Implement comprehensive observability and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK stacks.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure high availability of the API platform ecosystem.
What you bring.
- 5–10 years of total integration experience with at least 3 years of hands-on expertise in Kong Gateway.
- Deep knowledge of Apigee X/Hybrid, including custom policy development, Shared Flows, and Flow Hooks.
- Proven experience with the Kong ecosystem, including Kong Mesh/Kuma, Konnect, and Insomnia.
- Strong command of Kubernetes, Docker, and Service Mesh technologies.
- Proficiency in API protocols including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, SOAP, and WebSockets.
- Full-time B.E., B.Tech, MCA, M.E., M.Tech, MBA, or PGDM degree completed within standard course duration.
- Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and excellent communication skills.
