About the role.
As a Data Modeller, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining logical and physical data models that support enterprise-level analytics and reporting. You will work within a modern cloud-based data ecosystem, focusing on the Medallion Architecture to ensure data consistency and scalability. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into robust, governed data structures.
What you will do.
- Design, develop, and maintain data models for Silver and Gold layers within a Medallion Architecture.
- Create and manage comprehensive Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents and data lineage specifications.
- Collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into logical and physical data models.
- Define and enforce data modelling standards, naming conventions, and best practices across the enterprise data ecosystem.
- Build dimensional models, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema, to support reporting and analytics use cases.
- Review and validate transformation logic across data layers to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Document data models, transformation rules, data dictionaries, and metadata artifacts to ensure governance and auditability.
- Support data governance initiatives, metadata management, and data cataloging efforts.
What you bring.
- 5-10 years of experience in Data Modelling, Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Engineering.
- Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture and associated data engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience in Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) and data lineage documentation.
- Expertise in Dimensional Data Modelling, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema designs.
- Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and transformation design.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Experience with data modelling tools and data governance frameworks like Collibra, Alation, or Microsoft Purview.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
