About the role.
As a Mainframe Infrastructure Engineer, you will build and maintain critical infrastructure platforms and products supporting core applications and data systems. You will ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our technology through software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response. This hybrid role based in Chennai offers an exciting opportunity to spearhead the evolution of our digital infrastructure.
What you will do.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to fulfill business requirements with measurable reliability and performance.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address, and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages.
- Develop and implement automated tasks and processes using scripting and coding disciplines to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotations to ensure continuous system availability and rapid incident resolution.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster technical excellence.
What you bring.
- 4 to 8 years of experience as an IBM Mainframe Network specialist (z Series) with z/OS Communication Server.
- Strong proficiency in configuring, debugging, and maintaining TCP/IP and VTAM subsystems configurations.
- Solid knowledge of products using SNA and IP including DB2, CICS, TSO/ISPF, Netview, Connect:Direct, and JES2.
- Hands-on experience configuring and implementing AT-TLS rules, IPSEC policies, and DDVIPA setups.
- Demonstrated expertise in secure encrypted data transfers including NDM, SFTP, and FTP/TLS.
- Proficiency in TCP/IP trace analysis covering IP, Socket, OSA adapter, SNA, and Enterprise Extender.
- Good understanding of networking technologies such as routing, protocols, IPv4, and IPv6.
- Experience with network management software, file transfer software, session management, and printing software.
