About the role.
This role focuses on planning and executing the migration of on-premises and AWS workloads to Microsoft Azure, while designing secure, scalable cloud solutions. The engineer will own infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and observability platforms, ensuring reliable and governed cloud operations. You will also lead a team of junior engineers and drive best practices across the cloud engineering function.
What you will do.
- Lead end-to-end cloud migrations from on-premises and AWS environments to Azure across discovery, planning, design, execution and cut-over phases.
- Design and troubleshoot Azure compute, networking and identity solutions including VMs, VMSS, App Service Plans, Container Apps, VNets, Private Endpoints, firewalls, DNS, NSGs and load balancers.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and manage Azure landing zones and governance policies.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, including build and release processes.
- Set up and operate observability platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana on AKS, along with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics and KQL dashboards and alerts.
- Implement authentication and authorization controls using Entra ID, App Registrations, RBAC and Key Vault.
- Automate operational tasks through scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python while maintaining code quality and documentation standards.
- Mentor and lead a team of junior engineers, reviewing their work and guiding technical growth.
What you bring.
- 9 to 12 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering or infrastructure roles.
- Hands-on experience migrating workloads to Azure from on-premises or AWS environments.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking, compute and identity services, including Entra ID / Azure AD.
- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes and container or serverless infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code and Azure CLI.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Solid scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash or Python.
- Experience with observability tooling including Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics and KQL.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring a team of engineers; AWS, GCP, Ansible and landing zone experience is a plus.
