About the role.
As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will design and build robust back-end services and APIs in complex enterprise environments, guiding engineering teams through event-driven and microservices architectures. You will champion DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation and software quality while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role with significant influence over technical direction.
What you will do.
- Design, build and maintain scalable back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Architect and deliver REST APIs and microservices within complex enterprise landscapes.
- Build and evolve event-driven architectures using Kafka and message queues.
- Develop and optimise data solutions across SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle and MongoDB.
- Own CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices using GitLab, OpenShift/Kubernetes, SonarQube, Prisma and Wiz.
- Drive automated testing and software quality engineering standards across teams.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and GitLab Duo to accelerate rapid application development.
- Mentor and lead engineers, conducting design and code reviews to uphold high technical standards.
What you bring.
- 14-20 years of extensive full stack software engineering experience in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong back-end development experience with Java, Spring Boot and related technologies.
- Proven experience designing REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle / MongoDB).
- Experience with DevSecOps tooling including OpenShift/Kubernetes, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma, Wiz, Maven or Gradle.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automated testing.
- Experience with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka and message queues.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of Computer Science, Object Oriented Design and Data Structures.
