About the role.
This role is focused on designing, developing, supporting and enhancing enterprise API and integration solutions that power critical business capabilities. The successful candidate will build and maintain reliable, scalable and secure integration platforms, while also providing L2/L3 production support and driving automation, Site Reliability Engineering practices and continuous improvement. The position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, guiding peers and influencing architectural direction across the organisation.
What you will do.
- Design, develop, deploy and support enterprise integration solutions using TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.x, 6.x and BWCE
- Develop, secure, publish and manage APIs using Apigee Edge on Google Cloud Platform
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices and messaging-based integrations using TIBCO EMS and IBM MQ
- Provide L2/L3 production support, incident management and root cause analysis to maintain high platform availability
- Implement observability and monitoring using Datadog, including dashboards, alerts and distributed tracing
- Manage containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes, ECR and EKS, alongside Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
- Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles and ensure secure API design using OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys and mTLS
- Develop automated testing frameworks using Cucumber and Behaviour-Driven Development
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews and architectural direction while coaching team members
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure and architecture teams to ensure compliance with organisational standards
What you bring.
- 8 to 15 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including integration and API development
- Strong experience with TIBCO BusinessWorks (5.x/6.x/BWCE) and Apigee Edge
- Proficiency in Core Java, Python, JavaScript and Shell Scripting
- Experience with TIBCO EMS, IBM MQ and event-driven design patterns
- Solid knowledge of RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, XML, XSD, JSON, XPATH and XSLT
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab and Maven
- Understanding of API security standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS and SSL/TLS management
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience driving engineering excellence, code quality and continuous improvement
- Experience with Datadog and production monitoring is highly desirable
