About the role.
This role involves leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust data architectures, including data warehouses and data lakes. You will act as a technical authority, driving cloud adoption strategies and ensuring that data systems are accurate, secure, and scalable. The position requires a strategic mindset to influence technical roadmaps and mentor high-performing engineering teams.
What you will do.
- Define and lead database architecture strategy across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Design and implement high-availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region architectures.
- Drive large-scale database migrations and modernization efforts toward cloud-native solutions.
- Establish database standards, best practices, and governance frameworks to ensure data integrity.
- Lead advanced performance tuning, capacity planning, and workload management.
- Develop and maintain automated DBA frameworks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and DevOps, to deploy machine learning models and scalable data solutions.
- Manage risk and controls, ensuring compliance with enterprise-grade security and regulatory standards.
What you bring.
- Deep expertise in Oracle database technologies including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
- Extensive hands-on experience with OCI cloud services, including DB Systems, Autonomous DB, and Exadata.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
- Proven experience in designing OCI networking, IAM, and security models.
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and OCI Resource Manager.
- Experience integrating database deployments into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing technical teams and influencing strategic roadmaps.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and provide innovative technical solutions.
