About the role.
We are seeking an experienced API Management & Gateway Specialist to join our team on a contract basis to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive API infrastructure. You will be responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance API solutions while mentoring team members on best practices. This role is critical in ensuring seamless integration and robust security across our firm's digital ecosystem.
What you will do.
- Collaborate on the design and architecture of API Management and Gateway solutions to ensure scalability and performance.
- Implement and configure API Gateway solutions tailored to specific enterprise requirements.
- Define and enforce API policies including security, rate limiting, caching, and data transformation.
- Integrate the API Gateway with existing internal systems and services.
- Optimize API performance and implement comprehensive monitoring and analytics solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members regarding API Gateway best practices.
- Develop detailed documentation for API Gateway configurations, policies, and usage guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to API implementation and deployment.
What you bring.
- 8-10 years of total professional experience with 3-4 years specifically in API Management.
- 5-6 years of backend API development experience using Java.
- Strong expertise in at least one major API Gateway platform, with Gravitee experience highly preferred.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with API security protocols including OAuth, JWT, and API Keys.
- Familiarity with API documentation standards such as Swagger and OpenAPI.
- Experience working with MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
