About the role.
This role involves providing expert oversight and rigorous challenge regarding business and compliance operations. You will be responsible for identifying systemic compliance risks and ensuring the organization adheres to all legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities. The position requires a strategic thinker capable of driving risk management initiatives in a complex, regulated environment.
What you will do.
- Conduct thorough reviews of business processes and systems to identify and assess compliance risks.
- Lead investigations into potential market abuse and financial crimes, including money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Implement and align internal compliance policies with international standards and jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaborate with first-line business units, legal, and risk functions to influence decision-making.
- Manage high-performing teams and lead complex, cross-functional assignments.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify risk mitigation strategies and strengthen internal governance frameworks.
- Provide mentorship and set clear operational objectives for team members.
What you bring.
- 8–10 years of experience in compliance, risk oversight, or financial crime investigation within a regulated banking environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as ACAMS or ICA are highly preferred.
- Strong ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to senior stakeholders.
- Expertise in data analysis and creative problem-solving to address systemic risk issues.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on coaching and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to translate them into actionable internal policies.
