About the role.
The Metadata Hub Analyst will be responsible for managing metadata and data governance using Ab Initio Metadata Hub. You will keep metadata accurate and current, maintain technical and business lineage, and support data quality and governance initiatives. This hybrid role suits an engineer who is comfortable with both platform configuration and ETL graph development.
What you will do.
- Ensure imported metadata is accurate and up-to-date.
- Configure and maintain Metadata Hub, including import feeds and data source connections.
- Understand extractor graphs and customise extractors to meet requirements.
- Import metadata from various sources and resolve lineage breaks.
- Build and maintain technical and business lineage, and create and maintain metadata reports.
- Troubleshoot application and performance issues and perform customisations across view, object model and reports.
- Use lineage diagrams to conduct impact and dependency analysis.
- Implement data quality and data governance policies.
What you bring.
- Hands-on experience in metadata management and data governance with Ab Initio Metadata Hub.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries to support data analysis.
- Proficiency in Linux servers, Unix shell commands and scripting.
- Knowledge of the Ab Initio platform and ETL, including Co>Operating System, Ab Initio graphs and EME.
- Ability to create and amend Ab Initio graphs required for Metadata Hub.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related engineering discipline.
- Nice to have: experience with data lineage tooling, enterprise data catalogues, data quality frameworks and governance operating models.
