About the role.
The Senior Consultant - Fraud Strategy will design, implement and optimize end-to-end fraud mitigation strategies across consumer-to-consumer, consumer-to-business and debit card (card-present and card-not-present) channels. You will balance fraud loss reduction with approval rates and customer experience, using SQL and Python to turn transaction data into high-impact risk strategies. This is a hybrid role based in Bengaluru / Hyderabad / Gurugram.
What you will do.
- Oversee fraud strategies for C2C, C2B and debit card (CP/CNP) transactions to minimize losses
- Maximize checkout approvals while minimizing false declines and user friction
- Analyze transaction patterns and account takeover (ATO) activity to build proactive detection rules
- Deploy rules within decision engines and monitor performance through dashboards
- Use SQL and Python to translate analytical insights into actionable risk strategies
- Balance fraud loss reduction with business growth objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously refine fraud controls
What you bring.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience in fraud strategy, fraud risk management or analytics within Fintech, Digital Payments, E-commerce or Payment Gateways
- Proven track record in transaction fraud, card fraud, digital wallets and debit card risk management
- Strong working knowledge of Python (Pandas, NumPy) and exploratory data analysis
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, complex aggregations and performance tuning on large transactional datasets
- Experience with e-commerce checkout flows and payment gateways
- Experience deploying rules in decision engines
